Ever heard of a ‘park model home’?
Retiring in style and comfort on a budget in a park model home is the latest development in the retirement saga.
A lot of retirees used to stay in their homes, and eventually move into assisted living situations. Well times have changed, people are living longer, and retirees are far more active than they used to be.
They’re also staying healthier, retirement has taken on a whole new look and recreational vehicles became the standard rather than the exception.
Of course, the most recent changes in the face of retirement are; rising home prices, and a faltering economy. These have many holding on tighter to their assets, while at the same time, worrying about losses in the investment portfolios.
Retirees are becoming aware of the fact that selling their homes will leave them with a tidy sum of money so very few even have to finance a park model home.
With the low prices of these new homes, they can afford to purchase one outright, and still have a lot of money left over,to meet their basic living expenses. Imagine the luxury of getting rid of an old home that requires consistent maintenance and repairs in increasing frequency?
Wouldn’t it be nice to replace it with a beautiful park model or manufactured home with hardwood floors, cathedral ceilings and covered patios? One that includes all the amenities, and is brand new?
Add to this the fact that these homes are big enough for one or two retirees, and even features sufficient space for visiting grandkids, and the distinct ability to move it to a park of your choice in a beautiful area others can only dream of vacationing in, and before long the allure of these park model homes is clear.
