Is Laptop Size That Important?

The question in notebook computers has become, “Does computer portability really matter or is it more important to have an all powerful computer that allows you to fit every piece of software and save as many movies as possible on your computing device?” Another question may be whether the smaller dimensions are more worthwhile or if the light-weight portability is the main issue. I think the accessibility of different types of laptops these days lets us genuinely personalize our productivity machines into something that works for everyone and doesn’t have to be generic for all.

The release of the brand new macbookair by Apple has really given us options with the size and weight and what kind of mobile computer we haul around with us all the time. At less than 3 pounds and wafer thin, we don’t have to get a workout every time we walk to work. It has a 13 inch display and a standard-size keyboard. Who wouldn’t be interested? This is the very aspect I have been looking for.

When I first saw the pitch for the MacBook Air with a slim, easy to carry computer coming out of that manila envelope, I was simply in awe. Now, that’s the choice I’ve been hunting for. Now it doesn’t have to be a workout to take my portable computer with me anymore! No extra bag that can weigh nearly as much as the laptop, no more grimacing, no longer taking up more room than my suitcase! What a marvel!

The never ending question of whether size is important is in front of us now and my answer, when it comes to a miniature portable notebook computer is a booming, “yes, Yes, YES!” Size does matter and so does weight. For me and my laptop smaller is as good as it gets.
