Opening up our new Wicca store downtown

So I’ve been putting my nose to the grindstone these past few months on putting the last remaining details together for the grand opening of my new Wiccan Supply store in the city. We’ve already had the website online for a few weeks now, and business is not bad taking into account what a short time the site has been running.

For the real-life Wiccan store, we’re going to be concentrating less on incense and candles and things like that than on lifestyle merchandise. The bulk of what I’m planning to have in the store are things like Wiccan clothing. There is plenty that targets the older and more established Wiccans and a lot of some really youthful and hip clothes that cater more to the teens in the community. There will also be pretty jewelry with different different gemstones, each with nice gift cards outlining the function and meaning of the stones in it. We more than likely will not be stocking much in the way of books, because I sort of feel like the profits are not high enough on them and that they don’t sell as much volume as I would like, but I can only imagine that I’ll keep a reasonable selection of some of our favorites.

And we will probably put up just a shelf or two of your basic Wicca witchcraft supplies, as much for ambiance as for any other reason, and I’ll put a good amount of funky Wicca decorations around the shop and incense going and things like that. I’ve got this picture of the place in my head that I really hope I can make a reality when putting it all together since if I can it will be a really great place to work at and make my living. I’m also anticipating having an chance to make friends with more folks in the local Wiccan community too, as I have not met very many of them since moving to the city and I’ve so far found the folks in this community to be very welcoming.
