When you think about it, the purpose of a name badges is for appearances. One, they make it look like everyone wearing the same professional name badge knows each other, two, they give the impression that he person wearing the badge not only has a name but also has more of a professional idea of what is going on that particular place of business.
The name badge doesn’t necessarily tell you who that person is. How do you know it’s not a fake name? In most typical businesses the purpose of name badges are identification. But maybe your not a typical business.
Maybe you’re a business that employs monkeys. A name badge will still work, how else are you going to tell Bob apart from Bubbles? Name badges are simple; they’re little pieces of plastic with a name on it and they get a simple job done. They make your business and employees appear to be professional, and they identify who is supposed to be working and who is supposed to be shopping.
Name badges are also easier on supervisors. They make it easier for them to yell at the right employee. Sometimes name badges are just plain fun to have. You don’t have to belong to a major business, professional establishment, or even have a job. All you need to be a holder or owner of a name badge is a name. These days anything constitutes as a name, so we use the term name very loosely when describing them.
