Unexpectedly Rapidly Acquiring A Classic Ford Mustang

I really have not had any time to post on the blog nearly as much as I would’ve liked, because of how much I’ve been dealing with my Dad manage his incredibly wacky midlife crisis. Okay, some would argue it isn’t as far gone as it could be. Basically how he did it was he dressed up like he was Fonzie or something, and drop by to my place and proclaim to me, in his “coolest” possible vocal tone: “Get in, dude, we’re gonna start cruising for some classic Mustangs. You got it, my boy, I’m finally going to make this thing happen.”

Next thing I know we were hopping around to a few of those crazy vintage car places that I’m mostly certain are not quite on the up and up, and I stare in wonder my dad wrote a check on the spot, for an unnaturally gleaming classic Ford automobile. I mean, it really is an impressive car. It made some great noise as well.

I want to point out that I said about that sound in a past tense. It sounded amazing right up until it became silent. My pops maintains that it’s a pretty simple thing to fix and that all he requires is the right part. I’m thinking, it may not be as painless to find classic Mustang parts as it was like 30 years ago, but he insists that there’s a pretty big market for them in spite of their age. the best place to find parts for 1965 Mustangs is via internet auctions, because you can find them refurbbed and often as good as they were 30 years ago. Not necessarily that inexpensive, though… Come on, man, we’re talking about thirty year old car parts.

I suppose it could’ve been worse. He might’ve bought himself a volkswagen bus.
